Pintig at Indak: Cultural Performance
The Paray Festival
The Paray Festival celebrates the town's agricultural heritage through street dancing and performance exhibition, that demands authenticity, grit, and power to represent the thanksgiving for bountiful rice harvests. It dates back to the early 2000s and is consequently celebrated during the last week of September. The colorful parades, along with the beat of the drums and the combat of St. Michael the Archangel against Satan, unites the rich cultural heritage of our town—our Irosin.
The 2022 Paray Festival performance symbolized strength in unity, blending the rhythmic beats of the drums with the burst of energy the performers ignited on stage. Every element used—such as the salakot and watakan baskets—is united in power, symbolizing the pride and culture of our town, and representing our hardworking farmers.
