Muna Gurung is a writer, translator and educator based in Kathmandu, Nepal. When not writing or teaching, she runs an inter-generational pickle company called ĀMĀKO.
She received her MFA from Columbia University, where she was a teaching fellow. Her fiction, non-fiction and translated works have appeared in various online and print publications. Her translation of Sulochana Manandhar's poems, Night, was published by Tilted Axis Press in 2019. She has also edited twenty children and young adult books. Muna writes a column called Lightroom Conversation, where she interviews women and queer writers in the Nepali literary scene. She teaches writing at the Open Institute for Social Science and is the founder of KathaSatha.
KathaSatha fosters a writing and storytelling culture by creating and supporting writers and writing from Nepal.
