Multi-modal Spatial-Omics: From AI Models to Translational Applications
Workshop at PSB2027
January 3–7, 2027 | Big Island, Hawaii
This workshop will bring together researchers developing and applying AI methods for multi-modal spatial omics, including spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, epigenomics, and histology-integrated data. It will highlight computational approaches for cross-modal integration, mechanistic and predictive modeling, and translational applications, through invited talks, selected presentations, and discussion.
Keynote Speakers
Mingyao Li is Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania and an internationally recognized expert in statistical and computational genomics. She is an AAAS Fellow. Her research has significantly advanced methods for single-cell, spatial, and multimodal omics, with broad impact on understanding cellular heterogeneity and disease biology.
Smita Krishnaswamy
Smita Krishnaswamy is an Associate Professor of Genetics and of Computer Science at Yale University and a leading researcher in AI and machine learning for biology. She has made influential contributions to deep learning, manifold learning, and generative modeling for single-cell and spatial omics, helping uncover cellular dynamics, tissue organization, and disease mechanisms. Her awards include an NSF CAREER Award, a Sloan Research Fellowship, the FASEB Excellence in Science Early-Career Investigator Award.
Workshop Schedule (TBA)
Call for Abstracts
We will select short talks from submitted abstracts. Each abstract is limited to 400 words. Abstracts need to be submitted by August 15th, 2026 (any time zone) for consideration of talks. If you have problem submitting your abstracts through EasyChair, you can email your submission to xiuwei.zhang@gatech.edu before the deadline. Notifications on acceptance of abstracts will be sent to authors by September 5th, 2026. We do not have a poster session at this workshop.
