Educational dialogues in multi-lingual classrooms:
A symposium of stories and solutions from research and practice
This event will bring together Cambridge International teacher trainers and University of Cambridge researchers to raise awareness of issues, and to identify possible solutions related to dialogic teaching and learning through English in multilingual contexts.
We hope you will join us!
Main aim: To raise awareness of issues related to dialogic teaching and learning through English in a multilingual context and to identify possible solutions.
Sub-aims:
Define and understand the range and scope of issues in dialogic teaching and professional development in English in a multi-lingual context.
Explore how to encourage the use of dialogue/oracy in classrooms where English is an additional language for many students
Exchange ideas for teaching subject specific content – terms, concepts and ideas where English is an additional language eg: Science literacy
Offer strategies to trainers to help address language issues that may arise in their own training.
To foster productive dialogue between trainers and researchers and to explore what we can learn from each other
