Human Impact- Human activities have had a significant impact on Tirhatuan Wetland, influencing its water quality, biodiversity, and overall ecosystem health. Urban development in surrounding areas has increased stormwater runoff, introducing pollutants such as sediments, heavy metals, and nutrients from fertilizers, which can lead to algal blooms and reduced water quality. Habitat destruction and land clearing have disrupted local wildlife, while the presence of invasive plant and animal species has further threatened native flora and fauna. Recreational activities, such as walking and cycling, can contribute to erosion and disturbance of wildlife if not managed properly. However, conservation efforts, including wetland restoration projects, revegetation, and improved stormwater management, aim to protect and enhance the wetland’s natural environment, ensuring its sustainability for future generations.
