This program is provides "science adventure camps" for youth in care of the State (living with foster parents or relatives, or in a group home). It is an outreach program of the Bonanza Creek Long Term Ecological Research Site, for which Mulder is a Senior Investigator. Our first camp was in 2017; we now run two camps a year, thanks to the support of Alaska Geographic.

Christa Mulder is the founder and director of the program; Katie Spellman is the co-director, and several students have participated as instructors.

Bonanza Creek Science Adventure Camp 2017-2019

This is a 2-week camp for middle and high schoolers. Participants select a module and experience two weeks of hands-on STEM education. For example, kids may build robots in Robotics: Land, Sea and Air, explore permafrost in Filming Permafrost Adventures, learn how to sample their environment in Air, Water, Soil, Oh My!, learn experimental archeology in Deciphering the Past, explore every aspect of a hospital in Biomedicine, or develop science oriented video games in Playing with Science.

Christa Mulder has been the director of ASRA since 2014, and many of her students have participated as instructors in modules. This program is currently suspended due to lack of funding.
