My Journey with Sanskrit
I have always felt that Sanskrit is a language of extraordinary scientific precision and depth, and I want others to experience the same joy and appreciation that it has brought into my life. I am excited to share my journey—from my early childhood in Māyāpura to becoming a Sanskrit teacher—and how my experiences have shaped my approach to learning and teaching this beautiful language.
I was born and raised in ISKCON Māyāpura, where my journey with Sanskrit and traditional learning began at a very young age. At around five years old, my mother arranged Sanskrit tuition for me, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong pursuit. Alongside my studies at Śrī Māyāpura International School (CIE), I also studied at the Māyāpura Gurukula. During these formative years, I received guidance in Deity worship from Śrī Jananivāsa Prabhu (ACBSP) and Śrī Paṅkajāṅghri Prabhu (ACBSP), under whose guidance I have been engaged in this tradition for nearly fifteen years. I am deeply grateful to be their official pūjārī disciple.
Later, I moved to Gujarat to complete my secondary education (10th Standard) and A Levels (12th Standard). Throughout these transitions, Sanskrit remained a constant part of my life. When I eventually moved to Bengaluru for my degree in computer applications, I had the opportunity to study under a Sanskrit teacher who had spent twelve years at a Mādhva Vaiṣṇava Gurukula and dedicated himself to teaching Sanskrit. I studied under his guidance for over three years while pursuing my degree, deepening my understanding of the language and strengthening my commitment to its study.
My teaching journey began in 2021, and since then, I have continued learning, teaching, and refining my approach. Over time, I realised that I wanted to bring greater structure to my teaching and create a learning experience that encourages students to study Sanskrit seriously and systematically. This led me to develop the courses I offer today, designed for learners with different interests and levels of experience.
My journey with Sanskrit is still ongoing. Through these courses, I hope to share the knowledge I have received, inspire others to explore the language, and help more people experience the richness of Sanskrit and the traditional literature it preserves.
