VALLEY WINES

At Valley Wines, the idea of planting vines for commercial purposes was conceived some years back but the actual implementation of the project started in 2002.

The Government of Uganda took up the initiative as one of the many poverty eradication/reduction approaches. Huge sums of money have been put aside for this and many others under the National Agricultural Advisory Services (Naads) program. This project of vines growing is in line with Government policy and the many initiatives to reduce the poverty among the ordinary man.

Over time, the acreage of our own garden has increased after seeing the viability of the project and the focus shifted to growing beyond consumption to commercial. The vineyard acreage has significantly increased to the current 40 acres.
