Eligibility Requirements:

Students must maintain a citizenship GPA that includes no “U” grades and only one “I” grade at any time with  the rest of their citizenship marks either a “M” or a “E” until we depart from the trip. Students must maintain  the 2.0 academic GPA throughout the first semester as well. Please be advised that when you register for the  trip you also are giving permission to check student grades during the first semester of school on all progress reports and the final first semester grade see the handout for permission to access this information. 

The Muirlands' East Coast Excursion is a privately* organized excursion to the east coast providing 8th-graders the opportunity to learn about American History first hand.  Students will explore the foundations of our country, from the Freedom Trail in Boston to the hustle and bustle of New York City, the political center of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, the unique culture of the Amish, the turning point of the American Civil War at the battle of Gettysburg, and finally the center of today's American government in Washington D.C.

*This trip is not sponsored, funded, or supervised by Muirlands Middle School, or San Diego Unified School District.  All teachers associated with the trip are not on duty and are not functioning as a district employee.  No course credit is given for participation on this trip.
