About Me

Welcome to my homepage! I am a cosmologist working on some fundamental issues in cosmology, such as the physics of inflation, the nature of dark energy, dark matter, and the theory of gravitation. My ultimate goal is to reveal the nature of the dark sectors (dark energy and dark matter) of the Universe and unlock the secrets of fundamental physics using theory, existing data, and future observations.

In particular, I am interested in:

  • dark energy and modified gravity

  • inflation and early universe

  • cosmological parameters estimation

  • machine-learning technique in Cosmology

The brief history of me is as follows: I came to existence in Kawcharmu, a small village in the southeast of Iraqi Kurdistan, where I spent some early childhood years and took my primary education. At age 7, I moved to Rizgary, a small town in the country's southeast, starting my secondary school until the age of 18.

Longing for science and learning more, I then moved up North to study physics at college, spent 4 wonderful years at the University of Sulaimani, and got my B.Sc. in Physics.

The miracles of fundamental physics made me realize one of my dreams, namely to become a theoretical physicist. So I decided to go abroad to further my education in Theoretical Physics and moved to Hefei, China, where I studied Astrophysics at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) on a China Scholarship Council for 3 years and finally earned my M.Sc.

The breathtaking beauty of Guilin, Northern China

Outside of physics, I particularly enjoy reading and holding deep conversations with my friends about philosophy, evolution theory and human psychology.

I also enjoy travelling, meeting new cultures, and mastering new languages. During my time in China, I took a comprehensive course in the Chinese language for one solid year of Chinese at Anhui Normal University (ANU), Wuhu Ahui. This enhanced my communication skills and helped to explore the diverse Chinese culture. I visited many interesting parts of the country ranging from the skyscrapers of Shanghai and Beijing to the greenest areas of Guilin and Nanjing.

when it comes to art, I am a music addict. I enjoy listening to almost all types of music, ranging from the classics of Bach and Mozart to the moderns of Hans Zimmer and Clint Mansell. I am fluent in Kurdish, English, Persian, good in Mondrian Chinese, and basic in Arabic.
