Muhammed Hasan Yılmaz

I am an Economist at Macro Financial Analysis Division of Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT). I am an honorary academic fellow at Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance (University of St Andrews Business School). I serve as an Associate Editor at Central Bank Review (the official academic journal of CBRT).

I have been assigned as a Secondee to European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the period between November 2024-February 2025.

I obtained my PhD from University of St Andrews in 2023.

My primary research interests focus on empirical banking, bank regulation and corporate governance. My secondary research areas include financial markets, climate finance and industrial policies. 

My prior works have been published in British Journal of Management, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of International Money and Finance, Review of Corporate Finance, Energy Economics, Annals of Tourism Research, Economics Letters, Central Bank Review, CBRT Working Papers and CBRT Research Notes in Economics among other research outlets.
