Muhammed Hasan Yılmaz

I am an Economist at the Macro Financial Analysis Division of Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT). 

I obtained my PhD from University of St Andrews in 2023.

I am also an honorary academic fellow at Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance (University of St Andrews Business School). I serve as an Associate Editor at Central Bank Review (the official academic journal of CBRT).

I have visited EBRD Office of the Chief Economist as a short-term consultant (November 2024-February 2025).

My primary research interests are empirical banking, bank regulation, corporate governance, financial stability, financial markets, climate finance and industrial policies.

My prior works have been published in distinguished outlets including British Journal of Management, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of International Money and Finance, International Journal of Finance & Economics, Review of Corporate Finance, Energy Economics and Economics Letters among many others. My research has also been disseminated by central banking publication series and reports such as CBRT Working Papers, CBRT Research Notes in Economics, Central Bank Review, CBRT Financial Stability Report, CBRT Inflation Report and CBRT Blog.
