Dr Muhammad Absaruddin completed his PhD in Computer Science at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Donegal, Ireland, in 2026, defending his thesis on Terahertz (THz) MAC protocols for wireless data-centre networks in June 2026. He completed his B.E. in Electrical Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, in 2021.
He was recognised as an Exemplary Reviewer of IEEE Communications Letters in 2024, which was covered by the Irish newspaper Donegal News and by ATU's official social media channels. He has served on the Technical Program Committees of ACM NanoCom 2026 and IEEE MECOM 2025, and chaired sessions at IWCMC 2024. He currently reviews for several journals, including IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials; Nature Scientific Reports; IEEE Communications Letters; IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking; IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society; IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking; Computers & Electrical Engineering (Elsevier); Journal of Network and Computer Applications; Journal of Communications and Networks; Wireless Networks; KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems; Engineering Reports; and Frontiers in Blockchain.
His research interests include terahertz communication, data centres, 6G, MAC protocols, computer networks, wireless networks, cyber security, blockchain and the Internet of Things.
