Passion Writing

Sometimes I wonder what my true passion is. I am the type of person who does everything because I believe getting more experience will help me in the future. So, what exactly is my passion? Every time I was asked this question, I couldn't come up with the perfect answer until I finally tried to rethink it. I chose to ride my bike as an answer after doing some brainstorming. I chose it because I have so many memories of it, and I started it when I was a child. Now I still ride the same bike as when I was a child. Back then, I used to sit in front of my mom so the ride would be enjoyable, but now I ride it alone.

 I enjoy riding my bike while listening to music. I know this sounds illegal, but it is worth it because spending 150 thousand IDR would be too much for me to listen to music while riding. At first, I was invited by my friend to join them in going around together, it was really fun. We buy food, hang out a little bit, and do many other things. But now, they are all too busy for it, so I decided to go alone. It was frequent at first, but now that I think I need to spend more money to buy gas, I do it once a month.

Why is English more important than the local language?

 English at school is often considered more important than the local language. The youngsters believe that English is more valuable than the local language which makes the local language itself die. This statement is supported by the fact that local language teachers are paid less than other foreign languages 

However, is English that important? English is known as a universal language. This means the majority of people can speak English even if it is not fluent. Because of the fame of English, many people get the opportunities to work or teach. English is also the language that many people choose to study because it provides opportunities academically and professionally. English also influence the development of technology in the World. In my opinion, English is a crucial language because it can influence the development of technology, it should be taught at schools even if it is possible to harm the local language's survivability. 

Nevertheless, that does not mean that the local language should be ignored. It is very important to sustain and preserve our mother tongue as it is part of our history and culture. Many clubs will maintain the local language from it is extinction. There are also several ways to ensure that the local language will remain alive, we could teach kids and youngsters in the next generation. I also a good choice to do a speech about preserving the local language on the internet, which people that can reach it are more. 

In conclusion, although English is the highest used language in the world, the local language is equally important to keep the historical value that is being preserved by the older generation. 

UN Day 2022 

UN Day: End Racism Build Peace is an event that happens all around the world to mark the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. In this article, I'm going to talk about the event in SMH townsite 1 RAPP. This event is prepared by the Junior Highschool of Mutiara Harapan. At the event, there are many booths to go to and each booth has a country to introduce.

 The country that is participating in the event is India, South Korea, South Africa, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, and Europe country. It's very interesting as they all have an activity for the visitor to do. Several activities interest me in the event, like rewriting your name with a Korean name, as for me it’s Park Yoon Yoo. There is also a free sticker at Japan’s booth. Sadly, I didn’t get the sticker which is provided by the students that charge of the booth. Not only give activities and free stuff, but they also sell several things like food and beverage, and high-quality stickers. They sell these items to attract visitors to visit their booth. I interviewed some students to ask their opinion about the event and here is what they said.
"How do you feel about the event"
"It's interesting and feels refreshing to have this kind of event"
"If you can improve the event, what would it need to improve the event"
"The time that is given is not enough so I would like to get more time"

 From the answer I got, I know that the event brings positivity to the students. This kind of event makes students feel more motivated as they can find an interesting culture that they might not know. Another thing that they can improve is the time given to the students, I saw some booths that only has several activities to do like Europe, and I don't think that they are given enough time to prepare for their booth. 

Writing Task 2

Some people think that teenagers should concentrate on all subjects at school. others believe that teenagers should focus on the subject they are best at or they are most interested in. To what extent do you agree?

 Nowadays, some people argue that students should dedicate themselves to the subjects they are best at whereas others believe that they should dedicate their time to all the subjects within their study at school. This article will discuss my opinion about both views and provide my point of view.

 On the one hand, focusing on subjects that students are best at can provide them with some advantages. First, if they feel passionate about a specific subject, they could work on their interesting field with their full energy and concentration. In addition, due to less burden of all subjects, they will more focus on science-related subjects which are very important for making a good career. Also, when students focus on only a subject they are good at, they can easily deepen into a specific area, knowing whether they want to continue with the same track while getting new capacities and skills.

 On the other hand, it is necessary to study several subjects at once to have a complete study formation. Every subject has great importance till secondary education because it provides all the basic and necessary knowledge that could be utilized in our daily routine. Moreover, if they are in university, the students are mature enough to take decisions about where they want to specialize or focus. By taking all the subjects that are provided by the school, they will have more basic knowledge and they can compete with other students who have the same basic knowledge.

 In my perspective, paying attention to only the subjects that students find interesting might be convenient to some extent. In my opinion, it will be useful if they try to focus on all the school subjects at once, as it might provide them with an integral and complete formation that will help them in future studies.
