Hi! I am an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Rotterdam in Netherlands

My research focuses on service operations, specifically how competitive intelligence  and advanced data analytics can be leveraged to improve firm decision-making. I specialize in demand estimation, using customer choice behavior models to understand customer preferences and purchasing dynamics in the presence of unobservable data and persistent endogeneity issues. To address these challenges, I use a combination of econometrics, machine learning, and optimization methods to disentangle causal relationships and build robust models that generate actionable insights for optimizing operational strategies.

During my PhD, I had the privilege of working under the supervision of Professor Kalyan Talluri at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Later, I worked at Imperial College Business School, London as a Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Associate between January 2019-August 2020. I hold a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Koç University, Istanbul and a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara.

My curriculum vitae can be accessed here. My profile on Google Scholar, LinkedIn and ResearchGate pages are also available. You can contact me at tekin@rsm.nl.
