Vita
I'm a Professor of Economics at the University of Hamburg (Germany) since 2011. I obtained my doctoral degree from the University of Bonn in 2002 (as a member of the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and the European Doctoral Programme). I have also spent one-year visits at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, and Northwestern University.
I'm also a Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Economics of the University of Adelaide (Australia), and a Research Fellow at the IZA and CESifo. Additionally, I'm a member in the following committees of the German Economic Association (Verein für Socialpolitik): Industrial Economics, Organizational Economics, and Theory of the Firm.
Since 2012, I'm the managing editor of the Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics (JITE).
Finally, since September 2023 I'm a member of the Swiss Competition Commission (WEKO/COMCO).
