Beau's Story…

Meet Beau! This beautiful black lab mix is approximately two years old and 53 pounds. He was minutes away from being euthanized for lack of space at a shelter. Once we saw those pleading eyes, we could not turn away. Beau is very sweet. He did very well with handlers and sociability with other dogs. He arrived with his kennel mate. They do not have to be adopted together, but they do love each other‘s company. Beau is completely vetted, heartworm negative and neutered. He had terrible fleas but has been treated and he has a little skin alopecia, but by the time he is ready to be adopted, it will have improved immensely.

Mama/Linda's Story…

Meet Linda, aka Mama. Her paperwork reads Linda, but she listens to Mama! The vet has her listed as a poodle. She is three years old, 10 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and potty train. She will turn in circles when she’s happy. Mama is very sweet once she gets to know you. She loves to cuddle and is very laid-back. She loves to take rides. She does not like men and will go after them, so we are seeking a home with no men or children. She is also scheduled to have a dental and 6 teeth removed. They said half of them were broken. She was dumped in a high kill shelter with her three newborn babies in really bad condition so who knows what she’s been through.

Garfunkel's Story…

Meet Garfunkel! This adorable 2 to 4 year-old Teddy Bear French Bulldog is all vetted and ready to go to her new home. She is so stinking adorable with that bottom under bite. She’s a French bulldog, but with longer terrier type hair and her coloring is like a Yorkie. We’re not sure if she’s a Frenchie mix or a purebred Frenchie Teddy Bear, but either way, she’s adorable! She is completely vetted, including spay, microchip, rabies, flea and tick, deworming, negative heartworm, Snap test, etc. Garfunkel is house trained. She is good with other dogs and well behaved, but she has that typical Frenchie bulldog wiggly high energy personality. She is approximately 22 pounds. We think she would be fine with children, but not little toddlers because of her energy. She may intimidate or possibly knock them over. Cats unknown.

Meet Matcha! She is approximately 2 years old, 17 pounds and is a Chiweenie. Matcha is good with kids but prefers to snuggle with adults. She is great with other dogs. Matcha is spayed and completely vetted. She is very friendly and very sweet. She is crate trained and housebroken. She will use a doggie door and actually wait by a door when she wants to go out.

Ralphie's Story…

Meet Ralphie. This poor little guy was found tied to a chain-link fence in Hartford, abandoned, absolutely terrified and riddled with fear. He ended up at the Hartford town pound where we pulled him. It took a long time for him to begin to start to come out of his shell. Now he is a happy, happy boy and wagging his tail and playing with toys. He gets along great with all the other dogs and does enjoy interacting with them. He is a snuggle bug as well. Ralph does have one issue with some resource guarding. We have been working on this with him and he’s come a long long way. He now will eat his dinner amongst all the other dogs with their bowls on the floor in the kitchen together. However, he can still become possessive of a special toy or his bed or something you drop on the floor that he happens to grab. Due to this resource guarding, we are saying no small children. But with love and patience and continue training, he’s going to make someone a great companion. Ralphie is approximately two years old, 11 pounds and male. We think he is a Shih Tzu mix. He is vetted and neutered.

Goldie's Story…

Meet Goldie! Goldie is a sweet, little Yorkie coming into our rescue who was saved from euthanasia. She is approximately 7 pounds and three years old. We don’t know what tragedy left her paralyzed, but she has no use of her two back legs. She will be going to the vet for x-rays and exams to see what we can figure out for long-term plan, but she gets along perfectly fine by scooting along the floor or does really great in her wheelchair. She is capable of peeing and pooping on her own, but she does not have control. She has adjusted very well to wearing a diaper and it’s truly not that difficult as she is such a little bitty girl. Would you consider opening up your heart in your home and adopting or fostering this sweet pup when she arrives at the rescue?

Meet Claude. Attacked by other dogs and dumped in a high kill shelter, Claude needed medical attention but is now doing very well. He had worms and was very thin. Now he’s gained some weight and doing awesome! He is a sweet, sweet boy who wants to be with his person every moment. Claude would not do best in an apartment or condo because he can whine and bark when you leave him alone. He’s like your little shadow. Claude is good with other dogs and cats. Claude is an approximately three year-old, 12 pound poodle/terrier/doxie mix. He is neutered and completed vetted/vaccinated.

Zander's Story…

Meet Zander. This poor, innocent, little boy was brought to our rescue last night by a good samaritan. Bounced around to several different unsuitable situations, this poor little one is a bit scared and confused. Zander once belonged to a homeless person. He was surrendered because he was not allowed to be brought into the homeless shelter. He bounced around to a few homes after that until he landed on his feet with us. He is a sweet, adorable little dog, but needs some patience and love. He can act a tad snarly if you startle him or try to do something that he doesn’t understand. But we see a huge difference already in just one day of stability. He is cute as a button and very friendly if you just go slow with him. We would not recommend any small children because of his insecurities. Zander is approximately three year-old. He is a male Pomeranian. Zander is completely vetted, including heart worm, snap test negative, microchipped, rabies, and distemper vaccinated and neutered. He weighs approximately 7 pounds.

Misha's Story…

Meet Misha. Not only is this little girl beautiful…. but she is super super, sweet. Misha is a spayed female, black lab mix puppy. She is just under eight months old and completely vetted. Misha weighs approximately 27 pounds. She loves to be with her person. She would love another dog in the home or a stay at home mom/dad. Misha is also housetrained and ready for her forever home.

Jack's Story…

Meet Jack. Jack is a mellow, low key dog that loves being a couch potato. He is an older, sweet, calm gentleman but it does take him a while to warm up to strangers. He is about 8 years old. He was saved from a hoarding situation with almost 70 other dogs. He has been treated for Heartworm and is done with the treatments but he will need to remain on Heartgard once a month for the rest of his life. He weighs about 45 pounds and is completely vetted.
