Muchin Bazan

Welcome to my website! I am a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Economics at Georgia Institute of Technology.  I got my Ph.D. in Economics from Virginia Tech. My research lies in the intersection of Public Health and Development.

My current research agenda focuses on the determinants of gender disparities in enrollment in STEM fields, the effect of in-utero and early in life shocks on educational outcomes, the impact of inter-racial marriage on social mobility and how role models affect gender norms and students' career choices. More recently, I evaluate the impact and cost-effectiveness of health and education interventions such as expansion of instruction time in high schools, access to nutritional programs, and the training of the health workforce on outbreak detection and response.
