I coordinated the SPIRIT|CONSORT-SURROGATE project: an international project aimed at developing guidelines for randomised controlled trials using surrogate endpoints. In this role, I led all the project phases: Literature Reviews, coordination of an international, large and successful Delphi survey, a Consensus Meeting and Knowledge Translation. I also coordinated a vibrant Patient and Public Involvement and led grant applications.

Conducted a mixed methods project involving a case-control study, analysis of UK Biobank, scoping review, qualitative study and theory of change development. Led in:
▪ Development ethical and research approval documents and prepared standard operating procedures.
▪ Data collection (quantitative and qualitative), analysis and write up of manuscripts.
▪ Dissemination of findings in meetings, conferences, and peer reviewed articles.
▪ Organizing and leading project meetings and managing project logistics and budgets.
African Population and Health Research Centre
Coordinated the recruitment, training and supervision of a team of 36 field workers; GIS mapping field work in two informal settlements. Involved in data cleaning of GIS mapping data. Prepared regular field and project reports and performed administrative duties.

Developed and piloted data collection tools for an online survey; Coordinated and conducted follow-up telephone interviews with identified survey respondents; Analysed qualitative and quantitative data; Involved in authoring a project report and two journal articles.

Coordinated data collection in 3 hospitals through in-depth interviews, observations and document reviews; analysed qualitative data and helped with drafting of a journal article and policy brief.

Worked in a team to coordinate strategies on data collection, transportation and equipment logistics and troubleshooting; Listed, mapped and villages/households using a mobile phone based application; Collected health measurements: stool sample collection, fly density measurements and anthropometric data collection; Served as the team's IT expert.
University of Glasgow
Delivered five tutorial sessions per week for the undergraduate Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences course; Marked two summative assessments and provided students with helpful written feedback within agreed timescales; Provided any relevant feedback on course content or general difficulties to the course co-coordinator/administrator.
In this role I mentored three PhD students and helped them to: Reduce their fear, get started and get into a writing rhythm; Break down a complex task and track writing progress for themselves; Understand how they work best and create good writing habits; Understand how to ask for and negotiate the support they need.
University of the West of England, Bristol
Facilitated study support sessions for the MSc Public Health students primarily in order to develop independent learning, support students in getting the best possible marks, encourage participation and build up their confidence and encouraging students to stay on course. Also, encouraged students to attend lectures and seminars, promoting good study habits amongst students and signposting students to other university services.
July, 2015: Experiential and participatory training to impart agro-processing skills to 40 youth farmers in Mogadishu, Somalia.
