Ellen, you walk gracefully on the line between meticulous and peaceful. I'm not sure how you pull this off. It's truly awesome. Your work requires you to manage many details perfectly, which could stress anyone out. However, you perform your work with an outer calm that demonstrates control and confidence to your clients. Personally, when we started communicating, I needed to see skilled detail management in you to trust that you would execute your part of my wedding day as carefully as I would want. You showed me your skill in detail management in our emails and at the trial. At the same time, the calm and confidence you exude helped me trust your OWN belief in yourself, as a business woman and an artist. Even more, you treated my friends and family with such kindness on our wedding day. Thank you for that. 

Often after getting my makeup done by professional MUAs in weddings, I feel that I wasted my money and should have just done it myself. That was not the case with you, Ellen.... you are a master at your craft. Your skill level sets you above the pack among professional MUA. I thought I understood the constraints of what makeup could do to my beauty. That was before getting my makeup done by you... an actual artist. Did not know I could feel so pretty! 

After you did my makeup, I felt like myself but glowier. It was my own beauty, elevated. I still looked like myself and did not feel like a stranger on my wedding day. Still Cara, just on the best and prettiest day of her life. 

How did the makeup last: Absolutely perfectly. Was scared about this element because I do sweat from my face easily and generously lol but it lasted perfectly.

Those who have heard me discuss my wedding in even the smallest detail have heard me talk about Ellen. Ellen was the kindest, calmest, most encouraging and lovely presence throughout my entire bridal season. From emailing back and forth about details to welcoming me in for a trial to calming my nerves and helping me feel beautiful in her chair, I could not have asked for a better wedding day MUA who quickly became a friend. Ellen's presence is what stands out to me - she is an expert at her craft but prioritizes what makes each bride feel beautiful on their big day. She is calm, collected, and meets every bride with exactly what they are looking for on their wedding day. Something that was so helpful for me is just how easy and seamless communicating with Ellen in the makeup chair was, even for someone like myself who typically doesn't have the nerve to offer feedback (i.e. sending back a meal that came incorrectly, asking a nail tech to shape a nail differently, etc.). Even after having and chatting about my trial, Ellen gave me a chance in the chair that day to change my mind on anything or make any adjustments, and I was comfortable doing so, which is a miracle for me! I have never felt more beautiful in my life than I did on my wedding day and I truly think that in addition to the stunning makeup itself, that feeling stands out in my photos, which is such a gift. The makeup lasted throughout the entire night, including a ceremony in direct sunlight! She was kind enough to offer a touch up kit with some powder and other items, but I never even felt the need to reach for it! While I loved all of my vendors, Ellen stands out to me for the way she treated me, the way she made me feel, and the impact she had on my day! She is the best and I cannot (and have not) shut up about how much I loved working with her!!!
