Tribute to '80s, '90s, and 2000s Alternative Classics | Side Project by LIAR LIAR
MTV is a North Texas tribute band celebrating the best of alternative rock from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s. Formed in 2026, MTV is the alter ego of the well-established original band, LIAR LIAR. Since 2023, LIAR LIAR has been making its mark on the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene, performing regularly at venues and festivals throughout the area. MTV was created to bring those same influences to life through the songs they love and the music that inspired them.
But MTV isn’t your typical tribute band. With a fresh identity, versatile setlist, and a sound that spans decades of alternative rock, they bring a different texture to the North Texas music scene. Their shows are designed to connect with a wide range of music lovers while delivering the songs audiences know, love, and grew up with. MTV is different, versatile, and brings something the scene has been missing.
MTV/LIAR LIAR have performed at well-established venues and festivals including Whisky A Go Go, Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, The Revel, Fat Daddy’s, and many more. LIAR LIAR has also recently released three original singles and is gearing up to release their debut EP, Proper Introduction, on September 4th.
With a foundation built on years of live performance and a genuine love for the music they play, MTV is ready to bring the alternative classics to stages across North Texas.
