When you were born, you most likely received a comfort object, probably a blanket or a stuffed animal. Stuffed animals were the comfort object that were bestowed upon me as a baby. As I grew up, my collection of stuffed animals grew with me. They got to see all the good and bad parts that come with adolescence, becoming an angsty teen, and currently figuring out adulthood. In a couple of years or so, I will pack up my childhood things and move out of my parents' house, onto bigger and better things, with some of those childhood things never seeing the light of day. This way of putting them on a plaque is a way to honor them, and they can continue to grow with me and see my experiences firsthand, experiences they would never have seen from the confines of a box.Â
