The Mt. Pleasant Artists Collective presents its annual Make It Mt. Pleasant on Sunday Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Mt. Pleasant Street and Lamont Plaza.
The popular holiday market features local makers from the Mt. Pleasant community and invited guest artists, all based in DC or near suburbs. Among the more than 80 vendors are painters, potters, jewelers, textile workers, and glassmakers, as well as craftspeople selling small batch honey, hot sauce, dog treats and tea.
The market also includes tables for local community groups, a crafts table to make cards for hospitalized children, and an Author's Alley with books in a variety of genres, including sci-fi, poetry, DC history and children's tales.
Special guest Santa will arrive around noon for pictures and to hand out free gifts to children.
Carolers will take the stage after Santa to fill the air with holiday cheer, while on the other end of the plaza will be a s'mores station.
More than two dozen restaurants along Mt. Pleasant Street will be open to feed you and provide a place to rest your feet, while coffee, tea and hot cocoa stands will line the market.
