From airport
From Midway Airport, visitors can take a direct 55 bus to the campus in Hyde Park, which takes about 50 minutes. Ride shares from Midway only take about 20-25 minutes to get directly to campus.
From O’Hare, visitors can take the Blue Line to the Loop and transfer at the Jackson Blue Line stop to the 6 or 2 bus to Hyde Park (both run express, but the 2 bus is only active during AM and PM rush hour times). Given the distance, visitors are encouraged to allot an hour and 45 minutes to two hours of travel time for reaching Hyde Park from O’Hare via public transportation. Ride shares from O’Hare to Hyde Park take about 45-50 minutes.
From downtown
By car, from Lake Shore Drive:
Exit at 57th Drive (the Museum of Science and Industry). Go west and curve around the museum. Take the fourth right onto the Midway Plaisance and go west to the campus.
The quickest and easiest way to campus is to catch the Metra Electric commuter train at the Millennium Park/Randolph, Van Buren, or Roosevelt stations. Exit at the 57th Street stop and walk west on 57th Street towards the main campus.
Please note: There are numerous public trains in Chicago: the “El” (run by the Chicago Transit Authority), the Metra, and the Metra Electric. Be sure to board the Metra Electric train.
Board the southbound #6 Jackson Park Express bus (toward 79th/South Shore), which runs along State Street with multiple stops between Lake Street and Congress Parkway. Exit the bus at 57th Street and Stony Island Avenue. Walk west on 57th Street, toward the train overpass, and continue for about seven blocks until you get to the main campus.
