Brief Biography

Milad Tatar Mamaghani was born in Tabriz, Iran, on May 12, 1994.  He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level B) with A/Prof. Xiangyun (Sean) Zhou at The Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia. He received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Wireless Communications, from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, in 2022, where he was advised by A/Prof. Yi Hong. Prior to that, he received double Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees with Honours in Telecommunications and Control Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran, in 2018.

Milad has been the recipient of several prestigious scholarships, awards, and grants, including the Early Career Researcher Travel Grant, from ANU, in 2023, as well as the Postgraduate Publications Award, Graduate Research Completion Award, Monash Graduate Scholarship, and Monash International Tuition Scholarship (MITS) from Monash University in 2019-22019-23, where he was also recognized as the outstanding teaching staff for teaching and learning excellence. He is the author of various high-quality peer-reviewed papers published in top-tier IEEE journals and conference proceedings and has served as a volunteer journal and conference reviewer for numerous prestigious publication venues.  His research interests span a wide spectrum of cutting-edge topics, including 5G-and-beyond wireless communications, physical-layer cyber security, non-terrestrial networks, statistical signal processing, and convex optimization. In recognition of his expertise and contributions to the field, He is a valued IEEE Member and holds a membership with the IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Signal Processing Society.
