Help

To build a great defense:

Step 2: Add base number in the search here

Step 3: Tweek it to make it harder

Here is a list of things you should know:
  • In each base there is a default trap. It's the one that will get disable by default. ( if you stack all traps in edit mode that's the one you'll get out dragging first).
  • But check this: ** If you hit a trap once and then disable a trap. the trap you hit will get disable.**
  • Only a gem stolen during a ritual will reduce guild delta.
  • Only teardrops will let you upgrade traps from 30 to higher.

What are...?

Thrones: These are critical in the game. without a throne, max gem defense will reduce you to a 5% gem steal chance even on a flawless raid.

Keys: Keys are used to break into dungeons for attacks, revenges and single player mode. They regenerate over time, and can also be earned from level-ups, the daily maze, and special offers.

The Kings Grace (Subscription): This feature greatly increases the amount of keys you will have, so much that with an advanced castle, you will have almost "infinite" keys. You do get to play much more, but it does not give you an edge in stealing gems.

Guild Seasons: Guilds receive huge orb and tear prizes at the end of each season. Keep in mind new accounts or guilds are illegible for the prizes of an ongoing season if they were created then (but after that everything will be normal).

Castle: Here you can find all the upgrades for your dungeon. These upgrades cost gold.

Tree: The tree can be found next to the castle. These are upgrades that can only be purchased with tears. You can run an upgrade on your castle and your tree simultaneously.

Ritual Berserker castle upgrade: This upgrade can be bought with tears only. For every raid you reach the totem on, your ritual time will decrease by 2-10 minutes (depending on the level)

Heartbeat castle upgrade: This is one of the most game changing castle upgrades that can be bought with tears. Every time you died while raiding, there is a 5-25% chance (depending on level) that you will take 0 damage from the traps. This is extremely useful for 2 starring bases while getting a trap disabled, making it very easy.

Orbs: Orbs are the premium currency of the game. Savor them. you can get them many ways: guild battles, challenges, 30 per day from doors, leagues, from Unique gems, and the Guild seasons, plus you can purchase them.

Dried/Crystal Tears: These are a newer currency that can usually be obtained through the daily maze, guild seasons, the Kings Grace, and special events. You can use them to upgrade your tree (next to the castle), and your traps over level 30. (Level 31+ trap upgrades upgrades raise the trap damage 2 times as much as regular upgrades, and the max level is 46)

Magic items: You get one magic item after each ritual. for this reason you should ALWAYS have a ritual going, even if you are upgrading traps. use small mine gems to in weak bases/ for the night. Eyes are what you want. When Eyes appear, they will first have a very small chance, so do not respin on the first few bases you see eyes on after the ritual. After the percentage grows to a bigger chance, id recommend 1-3 respins on a leaf or dust, to get the eyes faster for the Foreseer 5 throne.

Style'o'thief machine: while tempting, it is a very evil machine, especially for newer players. Try to avoid it if you can. If you cant, I recommend going for tier 1 or 2 outfits (wood or stone) that you can get with 1/1/0/0 (1 leaf, 1 dust, 0 mush, 0 eyes).

Potions: These are extremely useful for raiding. Try to save them up in the early game, and only use them when necessary, or when you are experimenting. Disable trap/DT is considered the strongest, and can be earned by running rituals with only red gems. Potions are extremely helpful when you want to make a dungeon much easier. They cost 7 orbs each, so not a big thing if you run out. you can get around 5-10 pots a day from opening doors.

XP: You get XP for completing missions, raids, retrieves, and collecting skulls, and also some from the single player missions. try not to rush to lvl 51 with a new account, as you will probably have lower stats than the others. At lvl 51, everyone can raid you, and you can raid everyone over lvl 51.

Traps: The stronger the merrier. you need 3x lvl 26 traps to make a raider with Foreseer 5 that dies 7 times, get a one star rating. upgrade them. Remember, you will find many big gems later, so dont worry about 4k gems you may lose while upgrading.

Retrieves: Your guild and your FB friends can retrieve your stolen gems.

Semi-perfect gems: Gems that are of the value 999,999 are called semi-perfect, because they are the largest gems you can place into your totem and run a ritual with. Anything worth 1,000,000 or higher cannot be fused with other gems!

Perfect gems: Due to vault costs (see below), try to make perfect gems (2999997), as they cost less to seal (7/5/0/0). These are the largest gems you can make with your totem. Any smaller gem will cost a lot more. DO NOT make gems barely over 1M, as you cannot put them into the totem, and they are very costly to seal.

Unique gems: Unique gems are very special. They give special ritual bonuses (15 orbs/no totem teeth broken/ no effect - yes there are UGs that dont have a special bonus) when a ritual is finished.

Gem Vault: Once a gems value becomes 999 999 or higher (or you obtain a unique gem), Geffi will introduce you to your gem vault. You can seal large or Unique gems here permanently at the cost of magic ingredients. Here are the costs of sealing gems:

  • Normal gem with value 999 999 - 1 499 998: 0/0/12/6 (12 mushrooms, 6 eyes)
  • Normal gem with value 1 499 999 - 1 999 998: 0/0/10/4 (10 mushrooms, 4 eyes)
  • Normal gem with value 1 999 999 - 2 499 998: 0/0/4/4 (4 mushrooms, 4 eyes)
  • Normal gem with value 2 499 999 - 2 999 996: 30/20/0/0 (30 leaves, 20 purple dust)
  • Normal (Perfect) gem with value 2 999 997: 7/5/0/0 (7 leaves, 5 purple dust)
  • Unique gem with value 1 - 2 999 997: 2/2/0/0 (2 leaves, 2 purple dust)

The rule(s):

The foreseer throne is the best. Only buy other throne upgrades that do not require eyes (Brave heart, wealthy duke, lucky crystal). Wealthy duke is preferable early on to help with those expensive castle upgrades, it also has more hp than lucky crystal.

Unlock the 3 extra slots first (750 orbs total). Better sooner than later, you dont need a lot of orbs for other things early on.

Only spend orbs, if you are sure it is worth it. Try to learn the real value of things before spinning a lot for gems.

Never buy best defense. Only do so if you are a KOT veteran and know what you are doing. It will not keep your gems safe from other players

Never restore a totem. Yes, it is fun to stay in a bouncy platform base for a few days more, but early on there is no need for that.

Never speed up trap upgrades, unless they have minimal time remaining. There are better places to spend orbs.

Take care when respinning. After lvl 31 you can find 999k gems and higher. dont spin away 75 orbs for a 4k gem, try to steal a new one instead. Same applies to retrieves.

Constantly run rituals. Fuse mine gems if you feel they will be stolen, because they are easy to replace.

When fusing gems (especially scrubs - mine gems), fuse 3 gems of the same color, as you will get a potion corresponding to the color. red and blue are recommended.

Respin for eyes (until you have Foreseer lvl 5). I would say 1-3 respins is more than enough, 2 is ideal. Obviously if you lack a certain type of other magic item, dont respin that one.

Avoid the style'o'thief machine. if you need a costume, go for a cheap one, with 1/1/0/0 or 3/0/0/0, and DO NOT get greedy. It was made for players who have nothing to do with their spare ingredients.

If you want a gold outfit soon as possible, then the machine will screw you. Still, gold outfits have reasonable chances when a third golden ball appears in the machine. examples are 10/4/4/2 or 10/4/2/4 and higher. but any other combination can do that. This is a very high price, and you can easily LOSE IT ALL. I would advise against this until you have the Foreseer 5 throne. I do my spins when the 4th golden ball appears, usually with the mix of 10/10/10/1 for decent results.

Save potions up, but experiment. feel free to use a pot on a big gem. Try to think, which potion would give you the best raiding tactic. You need to learn how to use pots effectively, so its never a waste to use one, if you learn from it (or get a big gem).

Great potion combinations include Disable trap & Gang of thieves, or the Slow motion & Ghost potion combo.

When saving your base, think of what potions the attacker may use.

XP is bad for new players. Pick the bases you want to raid smartly. There is no rush to level up.

Always have a castle upgrade running.

Upgrades to do first :are skull gold and Gem defense. Max merchant castle upgrade asap. then, key capacity. Try to focus on these if you have less gold.

Often have a tree upgrade running. (If you can. Tear accumulate much slower than gold/orbs, so you wont be able to constantly upgrade your tree) and save tear to upgrade traps over 30.

Often have a trap upgrading if you can. if you have too many "big gems" then it is OK fuse them in a strong base without upgrading. But make sure not to neglect your traps in the process.

Upgrade your traps to level 31, 34, or 40. These are margins that make raiders have even worse chances to 2 star your base. It will take a lot of time to get this far though.

Read the rules of guild seasons carefully. They may change between seasons. If you break any rule, you may lose your prize, however silly your mistake and that rule is.

Play the maze every day. Tears are super valuable. If you need more tears, push your guild for better guild season rewards, because that is another way to get many tears. Dont leave your daily tasks uncompleted before you go to sleep.

Respin 1-2 times in the maze if you do not get orbs or tears on the first/second spin. These are the best prizes. After a few months it is OK to slow down and spin less, in order to preserve orbs.

Dump as many tears as possible into Heartbeat. This is as equally , if not then more, important as upgrading your throne. first aim for a good 10-15% bonus, then try to push forward constantly. It will take a lot of time to max it so dont let that make you feel bad.

Buy the first level of berserker for 200 tears, if the other important upgrades are already done, it gives 2 minutes bonus. Whereas the last level costs 4500 tears, and gives 1 minute extra only. Going for extra upgrades is then optional, but you will need that 2 minutes so that you can complete more rituals.

Make Perfect (2 999 997) gems, guild bonus will help you. Anything smaller will cost more resources to seal.

Unique gems are best used to continue interrupted rituals with little time remaining. If you dont want it stolen, make sure to only place it in a ritual that has less time remaining than your shield, or orb it. Otherwise, make sure you know its a huge risk.

Seal (near-) perfect Unique gems instead of perfects, because UGs are extremely cheap to seal. But don't risk it if you are unsure you can keep a 999 999 value UG safe. (Or just orb it then).
