FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: How long is the conference?
Answer: The conference is a 3-day and 2-night event, beginning on a Friday afternoon and concluding early Sunday afternoon.
Question: What age/grades are eligible to attend?
Answer: Any youth in 6th - 12th grades may attend the conference.
Question: Does my church/organization need to send adult leaders?
Answer: Yes! A church/organization may bring as many adult leaders as they wish. However, we require that churches/organizations have a ratio of 1 male leader per 4 male youth and 1 female leader per 4 female youth.
Question: Is there a registration cost?
Answer: Yes. The early registration cost is $300 per registrant (which includes both youth and adults). This cost includes lodging, 5 meals, all activities, and retreat materials for the weekend. There is a late registration cost of $340 per registrant after the early registration deadline.Â
Question: When is check-in?
Answer: Check-in begins at 2:00 pm on Friday (and will continue until all churches / organizations have arrived). There is a mandatory adult youth leaders orienation at 6:30 pm in the Voight Conference Center. Each registered church/organization should only send one (1) Female and (1) Male youth leader to the orientation session.
Question: What about accommodations?
Answer: The retreat site provides lodging for 900 people. All cottages have electricity, full bathrooms, bunk beds, couches, chairs, linen, and soap. Some cottages also have full kitchens with a refrigerator. Each church / organization will be assigned single-gender lodging accommodations for the weekend. The size of each church / organization will determine their lodging assignment. Some churches / organizations may be assigned a cottage with another church / organization. There is no-coed visitation permitted during the weekend.
Question: What should I wear during the weekend?
Answer: Dress causal (no revealing clothing) for the weekend. Bring comfortable clothing and shoes due to the mountainous terrain of the retreat site. The weather is usually warmer during the day and cooler at night. (See the Weekend Fit page.)
Question: Do adult leaders have to fill out the medical waiver as well?
Answer: Yes. Every registrant (youth and adult) must complete the medical waiver form fully to attend the conference. The medical waiver must be submitted with the conference registration.
Question: What do churches/organizations do about youth taking medication?
Answer: Adult leaders should be aware of any medical condition that may affect their students. Youth should carry and administer medication at all times. In case of an emergency, there is a medical professional on duty. Please keep an official record of your entire group's medical waiver information.
