About Us
The Minden Tennis and Aquatic Club swim team is an opportunity for children and teens ages 4-18 to learn and grow in the lifetime sport of swimming.
The MTAC Stingrays have been churning the water for the past 50+ years.
The Stingrays participate in the Northwest Louisiana Summer League series and swim against many swimmers across North Louisiana.
The MTAC Stingray swimmers always represent Minden well during the swim season.
Swimming is a sport that has proved to build endurance, muscle strength, and cardiovascular fitness.
Welcome to the MTAC Stingrays! We are happy to have you and your swimmer(s).
Below you will find everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
Practice Schedule
- First day of practice: Monday, May 22nd
- May 22-25 practices: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:15pm (10 and under) & 4:15-5pm (10 and up)
- Last week of May and June practices: Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:15-9:15am (10 and up) and 9:15-10am (10 and under)
- Location: Minden Tennis and Aquatic Club
- No practice Memorial Day (Monday, May 29)

Meet Attendance
It is highly recommended that all swimmers participate in as many meets as possible in order to see weekly progress.
Every week, there will be a google form that MUST be filled out regarding meet attendance. If you cannot attend a meet, it is very important to fill out the form stating that you will not be at the meet.
Please note: A relay of four swimmers may be cancelled if one swimmer on that relay does not show up. To avoid this, please communicate with the coaches ahead of time if your swimmer will not be able to attend a particular meet.
Registration Fees
-MTAC Member Fee: $50 first child and $40 for the second child with $30 for each additional child
-non-member fee: $300 per child
Fees are due at or before the first practice.
Cash or checks are accepted. Please make them out to MTAC
Suits and Equipment
- Girls: one-piece suit
- Boys: jammer style
These may be purchased at Minden Athletic
- Goggles: All swimmers must wear goggles at practice and meets. Since swimmers will be practicing outside, mirrored goggles are highly recommended.
FAQ
1) What should I bring to meets?
- Lawn chairs, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, money for concessions and heat sheets.
2) What should my swimmer bring to practice?
- A suit to swim in, a towel, a swim cap, a pair of goggles, and a water bottle.
5) What should I do if I cannot attend a meet?
- Please complete the google form for that week and click that you will not be attending
6) What if I'm brand-new to swimming and am completely lost?
- Don't be afraid to ask questions. There truly aren't any stupid ones. You'll get the hang of everything in no time!
