Third grade math starts with a review of second grade skills leading to an extensive study into multiplication and division. We will start by understanding and mastering what multiplication is (repeated addition) while using different tools and resources. After that we will begin our Multiplication Challenge where students will master their facts 1-12. Upon mastering a fact families (for example all of the 2s) students will get to sign their name on our numbers of fame and earn a certificate. It is critical that students are fluent in their multiplication facts as they progress to 4th grade and beyond.
