Why I teach science at Tennyson:

I love having the opportunity to support both immigrant and made-in-Hayward students. I aim to enrich ALL of my student's lives by teaching them about the amazing world we live in! My goal for my students is that they will walk out of my class with a better understanding of the world around them, as well as how to question and investigate what they are told so they can find the answers for themselves.

My education background:

• Masters in Educational Technology from Cal State University, East Bay

• Teaching Credential at Cal State University, East Bay

• B.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder

• 2 years working as a substitute teacher for HUSD (how I found and fell in love with Tennyson!)

• Spent 1 year teaching English at a municipal school in Vilcún, Chile

¿Por qué enseño ciencias en Tennyson?

A mí me encanta tener la oportunidad de apoyar alumnos que son inmigrantes y alumnos que crecieron en Hayward. ¡Quiero enriquecer las vidas de TODOS de mis alumnos por enseñarles de nuestro mundo increíble! Mi objetivo para mis alumnos es que van a salir de mi clase con mejor entendimiento del mundo que los rodea, además de preguntar y investigar que lo que les dice para que pueden encontrar las respuestas para si mismas.

Antecedentes educativos:

• Maestría de Technologia Educativa en Universidad Estatal de California, East Bay

• Credencial docente en la Universidad Estatal de California, East Bay

• B.A. en ecología y biología evolutiva de la Universidad de Colorado en Boulder.

• 2 años trabajando como profesora sustituta de HUSD (Cómo me encontré y me enamoré de Tennyson!)

• Pasé 1 año enseñando inglés en una escuela municipal en Vilcún, Chile
