Assistant Professor
Postdoctoral Research Scientist
I have been at Mississippi State University since February 2022. My research focuses on understanding the dynamics driving climate variability, weather extremes, and regional climate change. My current research is focused on the downscaling and projections of TC precipitation. I earned my PhD in Climate Science from Utah State University in 2018. Before joining Mississippi State University, I worked as a postdoctoral scholar at UCLA.
Graduate Student
I am in my third year as a graduate student, currently pursuing a PhD. I recently completed my master’s thesis in which I worked on reconstructing streamflow in the Mississippi River Basin over the past millennium. My work aims to characterize the patterns and range of variability in streamflow and identify the large-scale climate drivers influencing these patterns. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2023 with a BS in Professional Meteorology. When not researching the climate, I am always looking for ways to experience what the atmosphere has to offer, sports to participate in, and spending time with friends.
Graduate Student
I am a first year graduate student. I graduated from Vermont State University Lyndon in 2024 with a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences and minors in mathematics and physics. In my time as an undergrad, I studied the relationships between climate, weather, ecology, and topography and how they affect wildfires in the western United States. In my spare time I enjoy being a volunteer firefighter and hope to further the field of fire weather by using high-resolution long-term climate models to predict large scale fire events.
Graduate Student
I am a master's student in the Applied Meteorology program. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s in Geography and Geospatial Sciences with a minor in Climate Science. I’m currently working as a Hydrometeorologist for NOAA on the Atlas 15 project. My undergrad research was on Arctic and Subarctic climate science and change. My graduate research will continue in the Polar arctic climate and meteorology for Iceland. In my free time, you can catch me traveling, skiing, hiking, and surfing.
Graduate Student
I'm a first-year Ph.D. student with a broad research focus on integrating tree-ring data to better constrain future hydroclimate variability. I earned an M.S. in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems from Nanjing Normal University in 2024, where my research examined how national carbon neutrality goals contribute to mitigating future global warming. Outside of work, I'm an avid fan of Metroidvania games and jazz music, and I enjoy playing the drum kit in my free time.
Graduate Student
I am a first-year master's student from Ocean Springs, MS pursuing the Professional Meteorology/Climatology track. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2025 with a double major in Professional Meteorology and Environmental Science with a minor in Geographic Information Systems. My research will primarily focus on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation and how it affects tropical cyclone variability. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and boating.
Undergraduate Researcher
I am a freshman undergraduate student at Mississippi State University, majoring in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. My research focuses on using custom Land use and Land cover datasets for WRF modeling. In my spare time I enjoy travelling or building robots
