It was a great pleasure to reconnect with alumni from our Petroleum Engineering program during a friendly dinner reception.
A special thanks to Mr. Colton Lott, a recent alumnus, Mr. Adam Trimble, and their colleagues for organizing a great and informative visit to the Patterson-UTI's rig yard and headquarters and giving our students and faculty valuable firsthand insights into their operations.

Petroleum and Chemical Engineering students from Mississippi State University attended the 2025 AADE National Technical Conference & Exhibition in Midland, TX.
While in Midland, the students had the opportunity to tour Patterson-UTI’s drilling and fracturing sites, and also visited Chevron’s campus, where they were kindly hosted by MSU PTE alumnus, Mr. Bobby Hulett.

Petroleum Engineering Production class had a trip to Shell’s Robert Training and Conference Center in Robert LA
Message from the instructor of the course (Mr. David Cole): "Shell calls [this] BOOST training (Basic Offshore Operations Simulator Training). This is a condensed version of the training Shell gives on both deck and control room operations. The students took turns being deck and control room operators, after receiving training on both separations in general and DCS in particular. The students were very engaged during the entire (Friday evening through Sunday morning) training. At their peak, they were producing over 6,000 barrels per day through the facility.
