The mission of this club is to support students who wish to recreate, train and compete in ski mountaineering (skimo) racing. Skimo racing is characterized by backcountry skiing long distances with large elevation changes, with varying levels of technical descents. We support athletes at all levels, and you don't need to race or have racing experience to join.
As a club we regularly train at Bear Canyon, Hyalite, Bridger Bowl, and elsewhere if the conditions are good! In the off season, we also do a lot of trail running and M laps.
This season we are planning to attend 7 seven races across Montana. This includes the races that make up the Big Sky Cup and local races such as Bear Skin and Bridger Bowl's Skin to Win.
Growing the sport of Skimo and building its community is one of our main goals as a club.
