Our Stories
“As a sophomore engineering major, I was dealing with 18 credits, lab work, rush events, and a part-time job and I was burned out. When my grades tanked and my anxiety spiked, I joined MSU Minds Matter’s weekly time management workshop and signed up for a one to one peer check-in. My mentor helped me build a study schedule and taught me simple breathing exercises to calm down before exams. Within a month my GPA bounced back, I was sleeping through the night again, and I finally felt like I was in control of both my academic and mental health.”

“I first discovered MSU Minds Matter on the website when a banner popped up inviting me to their ‘Self-Care Spotlight’ webinar. I clicked through and signed up for their email list. That week I attended an online workshop on imposter syndrome, downloaded breathing-break audio from the Resources Hub. Within a month, I was using their study-break techniques before exams, chatting regularly with my mentor, and had more confidence walking into lab sessions and my grades and well-being have never looked better.”
