About Me

My love for children and English reading/writing drove me to attend school at Texas Tech University to earn a degree in English with a minor in Education. I also wanted to help serve my community as much as I possibly could, so I decided to join an organization on Tech campus to do just that. Through Alpha Phi Omega I was able to help many classrooms in my community and children. They imparted wisdom that I will take wherever I go, which is the belief that we can all do great things, if we just try.  I want to pass on my passion for learning to students so that one day they may impact our community in ways unimaginable. Everyone grows up to be someone important, anyone can do anything. And that's true power.

The goal of my teaching, and center of my teaching philosophy, is active learning. One of my ultimate objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills to take control of and become active participants in their own learning and become active members of their community and life. I truly believe that knowledge gained through active participation is knowledge that will stay with an individual.
