In my master's program, I have been in courses that provided me the platform to create lesson plans that are designed specifically to my students. The program allowed me to explore the purpose of my work. Through analysis of my pedagogy I was able to synthesize my learning and develop a stronger foundation for my passion in education. The Master of Arts in Education program guided my exploration in complex educational systems which have enlightened my perspective. The following gallery includes a variety of creations that were developed and designed to the constraints provided in my MAED course assignment instructions. The showcase artifacts are in distinct categories that emerged as themes throughout this program.
The focus on Engaging the Community signifies the creations that facilitate a partnership with families and colleagues.
I spent a significant amount of time in the Creations for Context category which focused on leadership in my professional setting. These creations surfaced through my secondary concentration Technology and Learning.
In Passion for Pedagogy, I wanted to illuminate the science specific creations that materialized in my primary concentration Science and Mathematics Education, high quality science education is a passion I dedicate a lot of time on refining.
Through Data-Driven Pedagogy I seek to highlight the ways I utilized data (student examples included) that I relied on to make changes and adjust my teaching. The focus on the Next Generation Science Standards NGSS is woven throughout these creations.

Through this artifact, I wanted to demonstrate my ability to communicate with my community. I never crafted a communication policy in the past where I utilized a succinct communication policy that was sensitive to my community and was detailed enough to be easily followed. The communication policy includes a sample email that provides a model for those who are unsure on how to construct an email. The best collaborations include open communication and that is something that this artifact has facilitated.
This image correlates to a campaign to engage fellow educators in implementing proven best practices in science teaching and its implications for the future. The study of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) is lacking diversity. In this artifact, I wanted to showcase my passion for STEM where peer teachers would understand the importance of our work. The need for innovation and creativity is essential in STEM and this campaign poster was dedicated to the future jobs.
I conducted research on aesthetic that is universally appealing. The book I utilized for this creation was by Samara Timothy. In this artifact, I wanted to focus on the design choices that are universally appealing. The presentation focused on maximizing design choices to better audience retention. Teachers who use a lot of online presentation tools like Google Slides can benefit from reviewing this creation.
This artifact was one of the most personal works I've done. The intention behind the work I seek to accomplish initiated from my upbringing. This professional development session focuses on implementing a guided plan to integrate three dimensional learning in the classroom. This professional development session provides a background including pedagogy to describe my purpose for doing education work.
Through my program, I have focused on the best practices that engage learners in the classroom. In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to center my work and align my outcomes to my learning philosophy. The video I created to describe my philosophy to learning which is rooted in my values. This creation focused on my own experience and how my learning experiences molded my teaching strategies.
This artifact showcases my content knowledge and my technological skills by creating a vodcast video to engage students. The vodcast is dedicated to homologous structures and utilizes iMovie to blend various technological elements like personalized audio, carefully selected pictures, and a unique script. This creation would be intriguing to those interested in science content teaching designs that I have developed.
Throughout my time in this program, I was provided a vehicle to further explore my own understanding of what science means to my own teaching. In this artifact I demonstrate the content specific rationale behind practices and three dimensional learning. The literature review synthesizes a plethora of articles to build a conceptual understanding of the best practices that are required to teach science equitably.
The Integrating Science and Engineering practices report was my opportunity to highlight my creativity and content specific knowledge in a fine tuned unit design. Through this artifact, I demonstrate the design skills I gained stitching my content knowledge through every decision. The unit that I designed provided me with data that I analyzed and summarized in the report. The creation has student examples along with the specific practices that were addressed in this unit design.
