Purpose: To learn more about what it means to be a digital citizen and gain knowledge of a country of your choice.
Your Assignment: Using a variety of resources, you will research a country and present your findings through a poster/brochure, podcast, or PowerPoint presentation. You will submit your assignment on SeeSaw before Week 4. Your presentation should include the following information:
Country
Capital and main cities
Flag
Geography (description of the terrain)
Map of the country
Culture
(religion,
holidays/festivals,
sports,
foods,
language)
Tourist attractions
Fun Facts
Presentation Options:
You have three options you may choose from:
Travel Brochure/ Country Poster- Present your findings and research of your chosen country through a visual. You may even want to have props and dress up as a documentary presenter.
Podcast- Make a voice recording of a country podcast offering information and travel tips. You may host a show of a podcast station that we are tuning into. Your podcast may be a travel podcast to talk about your country.
PowerPoint Presentation - Make a PowerPoint presentation with slides that are filled with visuals and information about your country.
Class Project Month at Glance
Week 1: EXPLORATION- You will explore different countries by utilizing a few resources to help make your decision. On the resources tab, you will find interactive websites, applications, and informational videos for you to explore different countries. By the end of week one, you need to decide on the country that you will be an expert on.
Week 2: PRESENTATION- Choose which presentation option you will be using. Begin working on your presentation and drafting out the information you need through research. You may use the resources that can be found on the resources tab. Compile your findings on a PowerPoint presentation, poster/brochure, or a podcast. Be creative and think outside of the box!
You will upload your final draft on SeeSaw so that it will be ready to be presented on Week 3 during our Microsoft Class Calls.
Week 3: Self-edit and revise your presentation for any missing information or add ons to your presentation. This is also the week of application where you may pick one of the following. Try out a recipe, learn a few phrases of the language, or learn games from the country. You will share which one you decided to experience during your presentation to the class.
Food- try out a recipe at home.
Games- learn a fun game from your country of choice.
Music and Dance- listen and learn a song or dance of the county you picked.
Week 4: Present your final product to the class! During presentation week, you will learn about many countries from your peers as well.
