This website is mostly for parents (but there is some review material for students as well). First and foremost, if you need to get in touch with me, the best way is through email: gemmar.saunders@cms.k12.nc.us
I teach with a flipped classroom approach - students can watch the lectures at their own pace through my youtube channel. We also work through project based learning, where students review concepts through projects, working with others to discuss ideas, as this is a difficult course and it is best to study with others.
Here at CMS, we are utilizing Canvas, where your students can access all of the materials for their courses. If you would like to see what your students are doing in their classes, you can join the course.
You should be able to see the course, but I would also like you to see our class agenda. This is updated regularly and is on the Canvas page for each unit so that students can see what readings they should be doing, what activities will be coming up, and which parts of the lectures they should be watching each night.
You can also see that I put different readings on the right hand side. We have a school issued textbook - Traditions & Encounters. However, some students find this to be a little narrative-heavy and wish for something that is merely factual-based. Therefore, I also offer pages for the AMSCO AP World History textbook. If you wish to purchase that textbook for your student, you can get the link for that on my syllabus.
Should you feel obliged, I do have an Amazon Wish List for classroom supplies that you can find here.
