You would be surprised how many times I have been asked, "what do you do with those little kids? They really don't have real problems do they?"
My name is Nicole Gilliam and I am excited to be returning as the school counselor at Chantilly Montessori for the 2020-2021 school year. Confidentiality is an important component of the counseling relationship. However, students are informed at the beginning of the counseling relationship that if they reveal they wish to do harm to themselves, someone is harming them, or someone else's safety is threatened, confidentiality will be broken. In addition, students are encouraged to share with their parent and/or teachers, or the counselor will ask for permission to share if it is relevant to a third party.
