Warm up: What is a personal essay? What makes a personal essay unique/interesting to read? We are starting off this class by examining what we believe in. What are some things you believe in?

Ex:Ms. Mayeda believes that…

  • Everyone has a story to tell.
  • Everyone deserves an education.
  • Find your passions and make time for it.
  • Take care of yourself or else you won’t be able to care for anyone.

  • Read/Listen "Finding the Flexibility to Survive"
    • Look for Imagery
