Jan. 12: This week we started thinking about careers and future plans. The students need to create a "career collage" which will include pictures, buzz words, and ideas about their future careers/dream jobs. They may use magazines and newspapers, or they may print things out to include in the collage. This is due the week of January 26th.
Dec. 1: We worked out our 2-minute speech outlines in class this week. Next week, after we share our meal projects, students will be making a speech for the class on a topic they are an "expert" in. They can choose any topic so long as it is class appropriate. All speeches should be two minutes long.
Nov. 24: Below are the specifics we discussed in class about our family meal mini-project, in the form of the handout they got in class last week. The meal should be completed by the week of Dec. 8. Bon appetit! :D
Nov. 12: I have asked students to start thinking about a meal they will make for their families before the end of the semester. They need to come up with the meal, write a grocery list, and participate in the grocery shop themselves. They will then cook the meal for their family at some point in the next 4 weeks. They need to have a description of what they made, as well as a picture of the meal/their family eating. I have asked them to go beyond heating up soup- we will get more specifics next week!
