Hello and Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Miss. Martin and I have the amazing privilege of being your child's 3rd grade teacher this year! This year is going be a great one!

A Little About Me

I moved to Illinois from Arizona three years ago. I lived in Arizona since I was 3 years old. I loved the desert and the heat but I am loving the trees and the cooler weather. My family has two dogs, Chewi and Mollie. Chewi is 7 and Mollie is 2 years old! We love going on car rides and going on walks! During my free time I love to make something new, bake some goodies, go on a hike or even read a good book.

I went to college at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I just completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University this summer and am planning to walk in my graduation in October!

My Teaching Background and Philosophy

This is my fourth year teaching third grade and I love it! Before teaching third grade, I taught half a year in first grade. There is a lot of learning that happens in third grade, as it is the year we really start transitioning to independent learning. As a teacher I love to laugh and get to know the kids, however I do set high expectations for my students. I strongly believe in and use positive reinforcement as a huge part of my classroom management system. All students are able to achieve anything they put their minds to.

I am so excited to have your child in my class and get to know you and your family!
