How do we become an MSMA Affiliate Festival?

Affiliate festivals are essential to MSMA’s vision of building a unified marching circuit across Missouri. By affiliating, your event joins a growing network of festivals committed to high-quality performance opportunities and educational consistency across the state.
To ensure alignment and consistency across affiliate sites, we do require the use of BOA-style adjudication sheets, as we believe they provide the highest educational benefit to participating programs. Beyond this, you remain in full control of your event, and our services are offered simply as optional support to help where and when you need them—not to run or change your festival.
MSMA provides the following support to our affiliate festivals:
Publicity: MSMA will promote your festival on its official platforms to increase visibility and participation.
Judging Support: We offer assistance in securing experienced judges, with all affiliate festivals required to use BOA-style adjudication sheets for consistency and clarity.
Event Services: MSMA can provide help with scheduling, judge coordination, and overall event logistics if desired - this is an optional service we are happy to provide!
On-Site Support: If desired, MSMA will place a site coordinator at your event to assist with logistics, questions, and ensure things run smoothly on competition day when possible.
We are not looking to take over or alter the identity of your festival—only to support you and your mission while aligning with a broader vision for music education in our state.
