Trimester 1 Introduction to Japanese language & culture
Trimester 2 Mini-lessons in language & culture: December is a short month here at SJR so we will start the trimester with studying "Christmas Around the World!" Students (by grade level) will take "virtual field trips" to many countries to learn how the Christmas season is celebrated in different cultures ... for example, countries may include Poland, Italy, Mexico, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain ...
January & February - Portuguese is tentatively planned

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has developed a detailed outline of the World Language curriculum focusing on four core strands for learning: Communication, Culture, Comparisons/Connections, and Communities. This is our third year reintroducing a World Language program here at St. Joseph/St. Robert School, special attention will be given to ensure students become comfortable with basic, introductory skills within these four strands with an emphasis on culture in the countries where the language being studied is spoken as the primary language.
