Ms. Evelyn Liu

English II & III - ELA Teacher - Refugee Outreach Coordinator

Welcome sophmores & Juniors!

I am pleased to have you as a member of my class. Please read through the following information to understand the procedures, policies and guidelines put into place to encourage learning.

English 11 is the third-year course for the secondary language arts curriculum. Emphasis is placed on increasing levels of self-direction and levels of engagement with a greater depth and breadth of reading and writing assignments than last year. Students will more keenly develop inquiry-based critical-thinking skills, as well as work towards demonstrating the ability to write more sophisticated essays with clearer theses and better synthesized and specific examples and quotes from more complex literature than before. In addition, students will explore the theme of the American Dream as we read American Literature classics.
