About Me

Hello! My name is Althea.

As a library professional, I am dedicated to increasing equitable information access to all, especially those who feel rejected by, unwelcome, or uncomfortable in library spaces. I am particularly interested in applying this dedication to roles within research libraries and/or special collections. I'm especially excited to provide reference services to those who are researching topics like genealogy, local and building history, book history, and literature, though I'm curious about pretty much everything.

I currently work at the NYPL's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in the Maps, Jewish, and U.S. History, Local History, & Genealogy Divisions. I am also completing a User Services Fellowship at BPL's Center for Brooklyn History.
