Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana
The Limit-Experience in World Literature is a humanistic education course offered by the Center of Humanities of The Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. It is offered to different postgraduate programs at the university as part of their studies program. In this case, it is one of the first courses as part of the Master's degree in Second Language Teaching. This course aims at expanding our interest in literature to be applied in our educational and pedagogical fields.
These are the sections to explore the main components of the course:
I am a Foreign Language Teacher graduated from Universidad de Antioquia 6 years ago. I started working since the 5th semester of my degree at different language centers as English Teacher with different populations. Once I graduated I started working at some public and private universities in both university programs and language centers. I already finished my Specialization in English Teaching at this university (UPB).
During my professional development, I got interested in the ways to have students as active participants in our lessons, for this reason, I love exploring about the transition and development of different methodologies in our teaching field.
Regarding this course, I take it as an opportunity to enrich my knowledge regarding the topic and to explore new content that can be applied to my practices. Although research has always represented a big challenge to me, I want this course to guide us towards a different view on the power and impact literature may have in our classroom settings.
E-PORTFOLIO AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS
The purpose of this portfolio rather than collecting evidence from a reflection on literature, is based on going deeper into some literary concepts and their application to my teaching practices.
In the following picture, I highlight some of the questions that guide my interest and focus on this literature course.
