I am a huge advocate for dyslexia. This is something many students struggle with, and there hasn't always been a lot of resources out there. My cousin David has Dyslexia, and wasn't diagnosed until he was in fifth grade. He went to a small school, and had limited resources to help. Teachers in the school he was at did not know how to help him, and didn't understnad why he had such a hard time learning to read. He eventually got a tutor who worked with him, and he became a great reader and ended up reading way above his grade level once he had the resources he needed. As a teacher I want people to be more aware of signs that a student may be dyslexic. And I want more parents and teacher to have access to helpful resources.
