Meets and Invitationals
Participation in all meets and invitationals is mandatory.
Please show up > 60 minutes before the start of your race. Assume rolling race start times if not otherwise indicated.
Required to wear MSJHS XC issued uniform.
Hydrate well starting the day before. Eat a healthy meal of about 2/3 carbs and 1/3 protein the night before and that morning.
As for meet scoring, each placement of a runner in a race adds a number of points equal to their placement to the team score. Lowest score wins. Only the first 5 runners for a school contribute to the score. However, the 6th and 7th runner still displace the other runners for their scores. Any runner after the 7th doesn't affect scoring in that race. So if we have the top 10 placements in a race, we score 15 (1+2+3+4+5) for the first 5 runners' placements. The 11th runner from another school scores 8 points for their team since our 6th and 7th runner, while not scoring for us, do move other runners up in points. Our 8th through 10th place runners don't affect scoring so the next runner gets 8 points.

We practice 3:45 pm to 6:00 pm every school day.
The workout for each day is announced at practice each day.
Students with special circumstances (7th period, band, or other Mission San Jose High school activities that are on their transcript) will work with the coaches for their workouts around their other activities.
