We use the RACE strategy to answer reading questions.
Have your child read aloud to you or other family members. This helps build oral reading fluency. Have student read book or passage multiple times. You can also time them and see how many words they read in a minute and set goals to increase the amount of words read correctly within a minute.
Have your child read to you and ask wh- (who, what, when, where, and why) questions to confirm their comprehension. Ask about characters, setting, beginning, middle, and end.
