Teichmüller theory, originating from the pioneering work of Oswald Teichmüller in the late 1930s, has enormously developed and diversified since then, giving a great impact on various areas in mathematics, including mathematical physics.

The 14th Mathematical Society of Japan Seasonal Institute sheds light on this fast-developing subject. Inviting world-renowned leaders in this field as lecture-series speakers, and internationally active specialists as conference speakers, we focus on many aspects of this subject such as metric structures on Teichmüller spaces, complex analysis on Teichmüller spaces, higher Teichmüller spaces and quantum Teichmüller spaces.

The MSJ-SI would also aim at promoting young researchers, by inviting them to participate in the event, and by giving them chances to present their work in short communications or poster sessions.
